Recently re-opened under new management, the pub has no food options and also did not have the extensive range of whiskeys they used to have. It’s quaint and pretty but needs to come back stronger and better!

Yes definitely recommend try the Guinness cheaper and as good as good can be in a pint 👍

It's a far cry from it's heyday. Now it's Jack Daniels branding and bright lights. I wouldn't recommend it when there are so many other better pubs around.

Disappointing now the wide range of whiskies has gone… there are some but nothing special. Beer tasted like it had been on for too long, would rather go to Pev for beer now.

At The Briton's Protection in Manchester. First visit since the change of management. Looks good so far. Interior spruced up but basically unaltered. Four beers on, including a couple of local ones, so not just the Heineken range. Still a proper boozer. 👍

Prachtige en meer dan tweehonderd jaar oude, historische, en op de monumentenlijst geplaatste pub, gelegen aan de Bridgewater Street in Manchester. Naast het serveren van bier staat deze pub bekend om het aanbieden van meer dan 360 soorten whisky. Ik heb hier een heerlijke avond gehad en genoten van de atmosfeer en vriendelijke bediening!

If you're a whisky fan this is the place to visit, they have over 350 different types on offer! (Can't stand it myself, but I was visiting with friends) A lovely coal fire made it very snug, a great atmosphere and they're dog friendly too! Toilets are antiquated but were clean.
A proper old fashioned British pub.😀😃
